Frequently Asked Questions
How soon can we drive on the new concrete?
Typically you can drive on your new driveway 4-5 days after the concrete is poured. The amount of time can depend on concrete thickness, type of concrete used and other variable factors.
We have lots of car traffic, how do we keep cars out of the parking lot work area?
Your parking lot project or other type of construction project will be scheduled allowing plenty of notice for you to inform all parties that will be affected. We handle managing traffic detours in our construction area or parking lot area to ensure a safe work environment and cause the least amount of disruption to those around us.
What is your lead time?
We schedule a steady 3-4 weeks out for concrete and asphalt paving services at all times but with proper communication, we can accommodate you as early as now. We are always open 24/7 for emergency concrete needs.
What is your standard price per foot?
We provide free quotes for concrete and asphalt paving services and attention to detail on every job. The scope of each job can vary based on the customer's needs.
How long will the service take?
The timeline for each job can vary based on the quantity of concrete or asphalt needed, location, site availability, and other factors.
What are the ingredients of concrete?
The key ingredients in every type of concrete are water, cement, and aggregate. The ratio of ingredients (or the addition of other materials) determines the type of concrete produced. Various aggregates can be used depending on the application. Additional add materials can be used to enhance strength or allow better workability.
What is the ideal mix of concrete?
The ideal mix of concrete depends on your application. We can produce the ideal mix for any requirement, using a different mix and ratio of ingredients. Whether you need concrete that is more free-flowing, or high-strength, we can customize your concrete product and mix it right on site.
How much concrete will I need?
Calculating the exact amount of concrete you need for replacing a sidewalk, pouring a new driveway or pool deck, or even repairing a parking lot is relatively straightforward in most cases, with a simple calculation of width x length x thickness. The trickier problem for most people is determining the thickness and type of concrete needed for a specific application. We encourage you to discuss your requirements with one of our friendly concrete specialists. Rest assurred, with Boswell you only pay for what you pour.
What access does Boswell need to deliver my concrete?
Our trucks can weigh up to 80,000 pounds fully loaded and are the approximate size of a standard commercial box truck. We would require drive access and a place to park where the concrete is to be poured.
How should I prepare the worksite?
The answer can vary, depending on your project. Preparing for a parking lot versus pouring a new sidewalk are very different. We are happy to provide free quotes for turn-key options or specific scopes of work.
Can concrete be poured in freezing weather?
Pouring concrete in freezing weather can be problematic due to the water used in concrete formulation. We recommend to not when the ambient temperature is 35° and falling, and to resume pouring when the ambient temperature is 35° and rising
What is the minimum amount of concrete I can order?
Our trucks allow us to pour concrete amounts as small as a 5 gallon bucket or wheel barrow at a time. Minimum charges can apply and will vary depending on time and distance traveled.
How much concrete can one truck produce?
Each of Boswell's volumetric trucks can deliver up to 10 yards of concrete mix. For larger concrete pours, we can schedule multiple trucks to handle your project or even set up on-site for large format continous pour(s).
